The funeral for Wanda L. Sherry, 62, of 623 Albany Ave., will be held with a prayer service at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Notre Dame Church. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Sherry died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, where she had been a patient since March 5. She had been in ill health since December.
Surviving are her mother, a son, two daughters, three grandchildren; four brothers, several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Betty, died at age 6.
Born in Ogdensburg July 17, 1927, the daughter of Walter and Agnes Prudhomme Gilbert , she was graduated from St. Mary's Academy and spent 21 years in state service. She first worked for Marcy State Hospital, Rome, returning to Ogdensburg in 1969, where she was employed by the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center until her 1988 retirement from the physical therapy department.
Since her retirement, Mrs. Sherry was a volunteer for Home Aid and for Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley Inc. Sh moved to Virginia Beach, Va., in May 1989. She returned to Ogdensburg in December.
She was married to Donald Sherry on April 15, 1961, in Marcy. Mr. Sherry died in an automobile accident Aug. 27, 1985.
