Newton Boyd McDonald, 65, of Falls Church, VA., died Tuesday, 19 April 1977.
Born on Saturday, 20 January 1912, in Huntsville, TN, he was the son of the late Melva Lawson McDonald Sr. formerly of Huntsville, TN and the late Bertha Clarence (Baird) formerly of Arlington, VA.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Phyllis Veronica (Cornett) McDonald, daughter of the late James Henderson Cornett formerly of Coatesville, PA., and the late Marie Elodie (Pecot) formerly of Saint Mary'S Parish, LA.
Newton Boyd is survived by two daughters, June Regina Linton and her husband William Harvey Linton of Falls Church, VA., and Carol Ann Gooding and her husband James Robert Gooding; six siblings, Grace Cecil Dunlap of Washington, D.C., Everett Clayton Sr. of Louisville, KY., Bessie Mae Kinney of Arlington, TX., Willard Pershing Tucson, AZ., Colonel Miller Baird and his wife Anna Lois (Fox) of La Follette, TN., and Melva Lawson "M.L." Jr. of Covington, KY.; two grandchildren, Kelli Marie Gooding of and Andrew Robert McDonald Gooding both of Falls Church, VA.
Newton Boyd was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Gibson of Denver, CO.; four grandparents, Newton and Pharaba Jane (Cecil) McDonald of Huntsville TN,, Lewis Millard and Mary Ann (Perkins) Baird of Jacksboro, TN.
