Born in Sprang Capelle, the Netherlands, son of the late Pieter & Willempje (Zujderveld) de Jong. Beloved husband of the late Jacoba (Spruijt) de Jong (March 16, 2004). Dear father of Adrie & Jack Huisman, Campbellville, ON.; Willie & Dave Koning, London; Joanne & Dan Loan, Port Coquitlam, B.C.; Pete & Shirlie de Jong, Chatham; Ann & Bernie Louwerse, Chatham; Judy & Mark Bechard, Dover Centre; and Tony & Durene de Jong, London. Survived by 28 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Also survived by 2 brothers; 3 sisters, all in the Netherlands and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sisters & 2 brothers. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday, June 5, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Evangel Community Church, Sandys St., Chatham with Pastor Bill Pipke officiating.
