Mary M. Greer, 85, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin.

Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2009, at Price and Sons Funeral Home in Garden City.

Vigil and rosary services held at 7 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2009, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakin.

Funeral Mass was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the church.

Mary M. Greer, 85, died Friday, June 12, 2009, at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin.

She was born March 6, 1924, in Wichita County, to Vincent E. and Caroline Mary Bauck Kleymann.

Mrs. Greer moved from Selkirk to Holcomb in 2000 and had lived in Lakin since 2007. She had worked as a postal employee, a bus driver and a certified nurses aide. She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church of Deerfield and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary of Leoti.

On Aug. 28, 1946, she married John G. "Jack" Greer in Marienthal. He died June 15, 2008, in Lakin. She also was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and a brother.

Survivors include six sons, John Jr. and Robert Greer, both of Liberal, Gregory Greer of Austin, Texas, Montie Greer of Deerfield, Shane Greer of Olathe, and James Greer of Garden City; two daughters, Mary Powers of Fort Atkinson, Wis., and Christine Murphy of Garden City; two sisters, Dorothy Bourquinn of Colby, and Edna Rogers of Kelso, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Vigil service was at 7:00P.M. on Monday, June 15, 2009, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Lakin. Funeral Mass was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the church, with the Rev. Mike Helms officiating. Burial at Deerfield Cemetery.
