Mrs. Mollie Barrett, mother of Mrs. Oscar Long of Winnfield, Route 2, Louisiana was buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery April 7,1944. Funeral services for Mrs. Barrett, who died on April 3, 1944, at the home of her daughter in Winnfield, were conducted by the Rev. J. O. Payne and the Rev. J. A. McMurry in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Barrett, who was born August 20, 1873 in Mississippi, is survived by six sons, two daughters, twenty-three grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces. Besides Mrs. Long, the other children are Willie and Lee Barrett of Buffalo, N.Y.; Lavell and L. V. Barrett of Los Angeles, California; Ralph Jernagin of Detroit, Mich.; Manuel Jernagin of Ellisville, Miss.; Mrs. Bessie Waller, Lake Charles, La. Two of Mrs. Barrett's children preceded her in death. They were John Barrett and Mrs. Hettie Thomas.
Edmonds Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements. Pallbearers were Jim Long, Parker Long, John Long, Bobbie Gorham, Bud Grice, and Jury Smith.
