Gertrude H. Burke, 90, Kansas City, KS, passed away Saturday, October 7, 1989, at Humana Hospital, Overland Park, Kansas,

Born June 18, 1899, at Rulo, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph H. and Ellen Schroeder.

She was married to the late Herbert B. Burke Sr.

Mrs. Burke was a graduate of Peru State Teachers College. She taught at several schools, including the high school in Rulo, retiring from teaching in 1949.

In 1961 Mrs. Burke moved to Kansas City.

Survivors of Mrs. Burke include two sons, Andy S. Burke and Herbert B. Burke Jr., Kansas City, Kansas; three daughters, Rozina Forsyth, Kansas City, Missouri; Carmen A. Lewis, Stover, Missouri and Beverly R. Burke, Kansas City, Kansas; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Burke will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Butler Funeral Home, Kansas City, KS. Burial will be in the Rulo Cemetery with graveside services to be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, with Norbert Anderson to lead in prayer.

Visitation will be from 5-7 this evening at the funeral home.
