Her obituary states that "the early married life was spent in Iowa, near Georgetown".

The 1870 isn't found, but Wayne , Monroe County, Iowa in 1880 notes farmer Franklin and Mary, Keeping House, are raising 13-year-old Amos, 11-year-old Freeman, 9-year-old William, 7-year-old Albert, 4 year old Rosa M, and 2 -year-old Emma R.

"In January, 1881, the family came to Stanton County (Nebraska), and took an active part in the early history of the county." During Mary's active life, she was an "able and willing worker in various departments and a very regular attendant" of the Methodist Episcopal Church they joined in 1885.

The 1920 Stanton, Stanton County, Nebraska population roll has Mary Carroll, 75 and born in Ohio; Frilman(), 52; and Jennie, 32.

79-year-old Mary "passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Matthes, July 27, 1924." (her obituary). Jennie lived in Norfolk, Nebraska twelve miles from Stanton.
