Emily "Nellie" Hanna was the daughter of Silas H. Hanna and Elisabeth McElroy. She was one of 8 children.

NOTE: The 1860 Hallettsville, Lavaca, TX census lists Emily "Nellie" as 3 years old. This would put her year of birth as 1857 and not 1859 as her headstone reads.

Married: George Washington Cox,Sr., 20 Jan 1876, Bastrop Co., TX

She died in childbirth, & her baby daughter Nellie Ellen Cox also died during birth.
