DANIEL KERSCHNER, farmer and inventor, Harrison Township, was born in Harrison Township, Fayette County, Ind., July 24, 1846, a son of Daniel Kerschner, who was born in Berks County, Penn., and emigrated to Indiana in 1833. He died August 23, 1860. Our subject acquired a common school education. He was married December 18, 1873, to Miss Ella R. Scofield, also of Fayette County, Ind., who bore him four children: Irene (died September 23, 1875), Daniel F., Clara M., and Ina L. Mr. Kerschner has been engaged in farming nearly all his life. He is an inventive genius and has produced two useful patents, viz., horse corn drill and corn cultivator.

DANIEL KERSCHNER FOUND DEAD TODAY had been in declinding health for several months WAS PROMINENT AGRICULTURIST deceased was a member of the Central Christian Church leaves a wife and five children.
Daniel Kerschner, one of Fayette County's foremost agriculturists, and a man who enjoyed a wide acquaintance in this and other counties, was found dead in bed at half-past five o'clock this morning. Mr. Kerschner made his residence on a farm two miles north of Connersville on the Milton Pike for many years. He had been in declining health for several months, having been a sufferer of heart disease. It is said that his condition was no worse than usual last night and it is supposed that he was attacked suddenly early this morning. When members of the family reached the bed it is believed he had been dead but a few minutes.
Daniel Kerschner was born July the twenty-sixth, 1847. All of his useful life had been spent in Fayette County. He had followed farming since boyhood and in this vocation his labors had been very successful. He was prominent in all public movements, and his aid was often solicited and always willingly granted. Mr. Kerschner was a loyal friend a devoted father and husband, and his death will bring sadness into the lives of many people, besides those in his immediate family.
The wife and five children survive. The children are Mrs. Una McGraw, living west of Connersville; Mrs. Clara Strong who resides northwest of town; Mrs. Bertha Archey of near Dunlapsville; and Miss Beulah who lives at home, and Frank Kerschner of this city. Other relatives living in sections of Fayette and other counties survive.
Mr. Kerschner was a member of the Central Christian Church and in religious labor he always took an active and very interested part. The funeral will be held at the Lick Creek Church Sunday afternoon at three o'clock. Internment will be made in the Lick Creek Cemetery.
