Funeral rites for Melvin Alford, Jr. 44, of Pace, FL, were held
August 3, 1994, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah United Pentecostal Church.
He was a native of Mobile, AL., an Army Veteran, and was employed by Escambia
County Utility Authority as a diesel mechanic. He died July 31, 1994 at Santa
Rosa Medical Center.
He is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Lynn Alford, of Cantonement, FL. his
mother, Pearl Alford of Lucedale; four brothers, John Alford
and Larry Alford, both of Mobile, AL., Marshall Alford of Amarillo,
TX., and Johnny Lee Alford of Pace, FL.; and five sisters, Melrae
Luebner of Portland, OR., Vivian Ingram of Pensacola, FL.; Charlene
Patrick and Judy Alford, both of Lucedale; and Joyce Gray of Vinegar
Bend, AL; and uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.
Services were conducted by Rev. M. L. Dykes. Interments was in the
Alford Cemetery in Lucedale with Freeman Funeral Home of Leakesville in charge
of arrangements.
