George and Ellen Yancey had a daughter named Georgia Yancey and she married a Jack Johnson. Georgia and Jack had a child named Rosea that is buried in this same lot with her grandparents. George and Ellen Yancey.
I found his death cert. mis-indexed as Geoge Yoncy. I have sent a correction to the MO. Archives on Mar.23, 2014 and if they are going to correct the name it will sometimes take up to 6 weeks. Sometimes they say the name index cannot be changed and the cert. will remain indexed the way they have it as they cannot change a name. This on is a case of poor handwriting and I can see why the person that read would have the name as Yoncy. But looking at other handwriting the a in hand almost looks like a u. But the a in the name of the funeral home was a giveaway that I was correct. It appears to be named as Poxson and the undertaker also showing Poxson. All of the folks in Springfield that have any dealing with the funeral home and undertaker know this is Paxson Undertaking. Father listed as what appears to be Joseph Yoncy. But correct name is Joseph Yancy. Cause of death was gun shot wound administered by his own hand, about 4:15 pm 6/12/17. Male, black widower. His wife is buried beside him.
