He had started home, in his wagon, the team bolted, two passers by found the elderly farmer lying in a ditch, unconscious and his team down the road, the wagon smashed.
They came to Megargel and notified Dr. L.M. Gore and J.P. Hardin of Round Timber, brother of the deceased, who started to Olney to bring the injured man to the Hamillton Hospital. Lloyd Hardin died enroute.
Funeral was held at the Megargel Church of Christ officiated by Howard Carter, Olney minister.
Hardin lived alone on his farm for a number of years.
Survived by son - W.S. Hardin of Eden, three daughters - Elvira Skipper of Paint Rock, Odessa Hamilton of Round Timber, Vernie Pennington of Eden; several sisters and brothers including J.P. Hardin of Round Timber, E.C. Hardin of Vera, Porter Hardin of Mason, Mrs. Josephine Meers of Seymour, Mrs. Kelly Clement of Megargel.
