Arlie Washington Covey, 73, of Hiwassee died Friday afternoon in Pulaski General Hospital. Born February 22, 1900 in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late James Covey and Emma Owens, and was a retired carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Emily Guynn Covey of Hiwassee; two daughters, Mrs. Guy M. Bishop Jr. of Pulaski and Mrs. Billy R. Smith of Vinton, one son, Covey of Roanoke; two brothers, Herbert Coyey of Snowville and Burley R. Covey of Max Creek; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Max Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Cecil's Chapel cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, is handling arrangements. Friends may call at Stevens at anytime.
