Calvin J. Moore, 75, of 117 Mansion Ave., died Saturday at his home.

Mr. Moore worked at Diamond International for 33 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1980. He also prepared income tax returns for 40 years.

Born Jan. 24, 1925, in Ogdensburg, son of Seeber and Josephine Erno Moore , he attended Ogdensburg schools and entered the Navy in his senior year of high school. He served during World War II on the USS McDermut DD 677 and received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater of Operation Medal, African-European Operation Medal with two Battle Stars, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign with 10 Battle Stars, Philippines Liberation with two Battle Stars, Presidential Unit Citation, Japan Occupation Bar and Victory Medal.

He married Carrie L. Badlam on July 31, 1946, at Notre Dame Church, with the Rev. Joseph R. Cote officiating..

He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of Ogdensburg Rescue Squad.

Surviving besides his wife are five sons and their wives, two daughters and their husbands, two brothers, 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A son, Richard E., died Oct. 22, 1985, and a brother, Richard, also died before him.

A prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
