Ruth E. McKim, of West Grove, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2009.

She was the wife of Willard H. McKim Jr.

Born March 21, 1937, in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Boddy and Mary Boddy.

She attended Avon Grove schools.

Ruth retired as a nurse's aide for Crosslands, after which she worked as a companion for Stonegate in Delaware.

She was a lifelong, dedicated member of Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Church, where she was a deaconess, usher, vice president of lay council, missionary, member of the youth choir, the Budds of Promise, and an active VFW member/past president and former member of Mount Olive Tent #26.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Willard "Bill" H. McKim Jr.; three daughters, Carol, wife of Scott Hardy of Lancaster, Hope Brown of Charlotte, N.C., and Holly McKim-Cozart, wife of Arthur Cozart of Lincoln University; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Ryan, Kaneesha, Myles, Payton, Amber and Dominick; one sister, Rachel, wife of James Smith Sr. of Toughkenamon; one brother, Thomas Burruss, husband of Deb of Sacramento, Calif.; two nephews, James and Anthony; and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 9 a.m., at the Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Zion Church, 314 Church St., Avondale.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday, May 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8 to 8:45 a.m.

Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.

Ministry of Comfort is entrusted to Emmett Golden Hunt Memorial Chapel Inc., Coatesville, 610-380-8000.
