Pauline G. Lockel , 82, formerly of Holly Drive, Fulton, a native of Ogdensburg, died Tuesday evening at St. Luke's Residential Health Care Facility, Oswego, where she had resided for the past two years.
Mrs. Lockel worked at Pilgrim State Hospital, Brentwood, from 1936 to 1979, and graduated in 1967 from Willowbrook School of Practical Nursing as a licensed practical nurse. She also worked at Copiague General Hospital, Amityville, and from 1979 to 1987 was supervising nurse at St. Luke's Residential Health Care Facility.
Born Sept. 15, 1917, in Ogdensburg, daughter of Myron and Grace McIntyre Gladle, she attended Brandy Brook Rural School, Heuvelton, and graduated in 1935 from Ogdensburg Free Academy.
She married George Lockel, who died in 1983. She then married Guy Rome, who died in 1986.
Surviving are three sons, a daughter, two sisters, two brothers, eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two brothers, Clint Gladle and Myron Gladle Jr., died before her.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Foxwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Paul Dettmer officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
