She was the daughter of George W. Clymer and Mary Shubrick Clymer.
On November 7, 1886 as Mary Willing Clymer, she married Thomas Francis Bayard at the Clymer mansion at Washington, District of Columbia. She was his second wife. Her wedding gown was made of cream white Canton crepe furnished by the Chinese Minister.
They had no children.

Bayard. On Sunday, January 8, 1933 at her residence in this city, Mary Willing Clymer, widow of the Hon. Thomas F. Bayard. Funeral services at St. John's Church, Sixteenth and H Streets Northwest on Wednesday, January 11 at 12 o'clock noon. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
