Bessie a native of Oklahoma, she spent most of her life as a homemaker. She also worked as a "Rose the Riveter" on ships in the Bay Area during WWII.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Goodell in 1973, her parents, Walter and Sarah Boatman, sisters, Hazel Sweet, Ocie Tow, Dovie Nix and Iva Whisenhut, and a brother, Edgar Boatman.

She is survived by one sister, Lola Steele of Phoenix, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service has been held at Lakewood Cemetery in Hughson, Salas Brothers of modesto handled arrangements.
