Helen Irene Alsbury, 78, of Vandalia, died at 1:29 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2009, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, rural Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: The family.
Mrs. Alsbury was born on Feb. 12, 1931, in Vera, the daughter of Glenn C. and Irene Pummill Hall. She married Delmar H. Alsbury; he died in 1959.
She was a retired packer at John Crane Inc. in Vandalia, and was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons, Gary Alsbury and his wife Janet of Vandalia, and Terry Alsbury and his wife Jody of Brownstown; daughter, Tammy Cripe and Mike Slater of Vandalia; brothers, Donald Hall and his wife Donna of Lockport, and Robert "Ray" Hall and his wife Janet of Brownstown; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Gerald, Dennis and Mark Hall; and sister, Roberta Faye Hall.
