Mrs. Surface Rites Today, Oronogo, Mo., April 8:

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Surface, 86 years old, who died unexpectedly Sunday morning at her home here, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist church. Burial will be in Weaver cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers.

Mrs. Surface was the widow of John Jacob Surface. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Misner of Colby, Kan., Mrs. Hazel McPhail and Mrs. Faye Ritter of Oronogo; three sons, Charles Surface and John Surface of Oronogo and Fred Surface of Webb City; a brother, George Allen of Oronogo; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Great grandmother Surface had lost most of her eyesight, but she would get up early and walk down to the river to fish. Easter morning she rose early to go fishing and suffered a heart attack at her home.
