Homer Milton Allison Jr., 75, of Hewitt, passed away on May 26, 2009, at a local nursing care facility. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2009, at the Brazos Meadows Baptist Church, 625 S. Hewitt Dr., with the Rev. Billy Edwards officiating. A private family burial will be held in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in West.

Homer was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to Irene Allison and the late Homer Milton Allison Sr. He served in the U. S. Navy for four years during the Korean War. Homer was a professor of mathematics at MCC for 35 years, and was one of the founding faculty members of MCC. He also served as a Deacon at the Brazos Meadows Baptist Church in Hewitt.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Scott Milton Allison, Kerry Lynn Allison, and Kenneth Earl Allison.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Allison, of Hewitt; daughter, LaDonna Stough; son, Homer Milton Allison III and wife, Janice Allison; grandchildren: Shannon Shroyer, Tonja Bailey, Crystal Allison, Natalie Melnar, Kevin Allison, Scott Stough, Katie Allison, Caleb Allison; great-grandchildren: Tylor Hammermeister, Allyson Parsons, Taryn Hammermeister, Madyson Shroyer, Grayson Bailey and Audrey Melnar; mother, Irene Allison, of Kensett, Ark.; brothers, Vance Allison and Meredeth Allison; sister, Annetta Ewing; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
