Harrell "Hammy" W. Hamilton, 71, Greensburg, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1994 in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born March 16, 1923, in Greensburg, he was the son of Lavella and Mary (Harrell) Hamilton. On Oct. 29, 1950, he married Betty Tumilty in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greensburg, and she survies.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, and had lived in Greensburg the past five years. Prior to that time, he resided in Bradenton, Fla. He was employed with the IGA in Greensburg. He served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific in World War II and was a member of the Welsh-Crawley-Kramer American Legion Post 129, Greensburg, and of the Alcoholics Anonymous.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by one brother, Lewis B. Hamilton, Greensburg, and one sister, Elizabeth Bishop, Hollywood, Fla., and several nieces and newphews. One sister Helen Wells preceded him in death in 1991.

The Rev. Jack Wolf will conduct the services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Greensburg United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Greensburg.

Friends may call at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service Saturday.
