Aaron F. Andrews Sr., 89, of Reedsville, died at 8:08 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2009 at the Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, Lewistown, PA.

Born May 19, 1920, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Aaron L. and Madeline (McBride) Andrews. He was preceded in death by his wife Elma F. Andrews on June 8, 2003.

Surviving are: children, Aaron F. Andrews, Jr. of Mifflintown and Julie Bearley and her husband Stephen, Lewistown; grandchildren, Jennifer Shetrom, Jill Bearley and Joshua Bearley.

He is also survived by a faithful friend, Delores Haley.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Andrews.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre on the USS Eldorado Admiral Turner's Flag Ship on Iwo Jima and Okinawa and last 30 days in the Philippines.

He was employed in the heat treating department at Standard Steel in Burnham for 43 years, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of the Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church, a life member of the City Hook and Ladder Fire Company and the Fame Fire Company; B.P.O.E. #663, Lewistown and the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family and there will be no public viewing. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice-The Bridge, c/o Lewistown Hospital, 400 Highland Ave., 2nd Floor, Lewistown, PA 17044.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main Street, Lewistown.
