He was a quiet and intense man understood by few. My summer spent with him in Bancroft when I was 12 let me see that his image was based on his strength yet it was his frailty that defined him. He was a good man who loved his family and his home and couldn't stand to lose either... through him and Marion I am tied to family history. Some would say Marion the genealogist would be their inspiration and she was but all I have of her are a few childhood memories sitting on her knee in their kitchen... but through Albert I saw the attachment to the land it's people and history. He may have not been everyone's example but he was one of mine.
