Helen Blood, a former teacher at Powellhurst College and Bible Institute, died Monday in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 93. Mrs. Blood, who lived in Portland for 66 years, was a member of the Sellwood Baptist Church and taught at the Bible college for 16 years until her retirement in 1963. She moved to Texas in 1976. She is survived by a son, Dave Blood of Duncanville, Texas; two sisters, Wilda Richmond of Portland and Besse Guy of Seattle; and five grandchildren. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Sellwood Baptist Church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Wycliffe Bible Translators in Huntington Beach, Calif.
