Obituary: Ernest 'Paul' Edgerly / April 14, 1937-March 8, 2009

Ernest's life began on April 14, 1937, in Dowagiac, the son of Everett E. and Vina (Craig) Edgerly and stepfather Ron Hann.

Mr. Edgerly, 71, of Sister Lakes, was united in marriage to the former Melba Tidey on Aug. 31, 1957, in Berrien Center.

He had been employed by Sundstrand for 14 years, Klett Construction and owned Triple E Trucking. He served in the Michigan National Guard for nine years.

Ernest loved camping, riding on his golf cart, playing poker and having control of the TV remote. He got endless enjoyment from his grandchildren.

His loving family includes: his wife of 51 years, Melba Edgerly of Sister Lakes; his children, Tamara (Robert) Bartak of Oak Forest, Ill., Ernest (Anne) Edgerly of Hartford, James (Samantha) Edgerly of Hartford and Jeffery (Christine) Edgerly of Sister Lakes; grandchildren, James (Julie) Kuhn, Angela Bartak, Anthony Bartak, Brian and D. J. Edgerly, Timothy, Sarah, and Michael Edgerly, Allan (Jamie) Street and Nathan (Heather) Street; great-grandchildren, Morgan Street, Allan Street Jr., Nathan Street Jr., Ryan Street, Alyssa Street and Peyton Street; sister, Daisy (Glenn) Baham of Hartford; and brothers James Edgerly, Wells (Connie) Edgerly of Hartford and Tim Hann of Michigan.

Ernest passed away at his home on Sunday March 8, 2009.

He is preceded in death by his father, who was killed in World War II, his mother and stepfather, a sister Velma Ehler and brothers Johnny Edgerly and Bill Hann.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. at McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Boyd Saylor and family.

He will be laid to rest in Keeler Cemetery at a later date.
