John B. Buckley was born June 8, 1856 in New York City, New York. He was the son of John Buckley, born in England, and Mary Bierce, born in Scotland.
MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted July 5, 1898 in Seattle, Washington. Assigned to Company "K" of 1st Washington Infantry. He mustered out on November 1, 1899 at Presidio of San Francisco with the rank of Private. He received a pension on Certificate No. 1,184,101.
He had been a member of the Soldiers' Home in Oregon and both the Soldiers' Home at Orting and Veterans' Home at Restil, Washington.
Mr. Buckley died at the Veterans' Home on September 14, 1931 at the age of 75 years. He was buried in the Home Cemetery.
