William Babcock, aged nearly 82 years, died last Friday afternoon at the home of his son, Elmer in Perryton, following a brief illness.
Born on April 4, 1840, in England, he had lived in Mercer county for about 50 years. His wife preceded him in death a few years ago.
Among those who mourn are a daughter, Mrs. Charles F. Schlueter, of Reynolds, and five sons, Will of Edgington and John, Fred, Elmer and Frank, all of Mercer county.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Pelton of Aledo at the Enon Baptist church on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Interment was made at Sugar Grove cemetery in Perryton.
