Mavis was one of a kind. She was a very sweet and loving person. She said she was always the peacemaker of the family trying to keep everyone together. She sacrificed so much for the sake of her children. She was the best mother any child could ever ask for. She was a good Christian woman who knew how to depend on God.

In May of 1999 she started having memory problems mimicking a stroke but no evidence of a stroke was found. After visiting countless doctors her health continued to decline until her passing. Her death was ruled officially as failure to thrive but that was so wrong. She struggled so hard to fight whatever it was and finally on Mother's Day her heart finally decided to rest and she was at last at peace. She is loved and missed by a host of family and friends.

Children: Sharon Jo McBride and James David McBride (Dana)
Step children: Glenda Wilbanks (Charles), Gary Dale McBride, Jerry Wayne McBride (Susan) and Teresa Hamm (Greg). Whom she loved as her very own and was the best of friends with their mother Opal.

Sister of Letra Minor, Mildred Pugh, Curtis Warhurst, Pascal Warhurst
