The Lamar County Echo, July 1979. 'Mrs. B. Chesshire, 90, of Bogata, died Saturday, July 21, 1979, in Red River Haven Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Monday, July 23, at the First Baptist Church in Bogata, with the Rev. James Barnes officiating. Burial was in the Bogata Cemetery under the directions of Grant Funeral Home.

Lou Ella Duke Chesshire was born June 4, 1889, in Delta County, a daughter of Rufus M. and Martha Carroll Duke. She married Mr. Chesshire on January 6, 1918 in Cooper and moved to Red River County in 1940. She was a Baptist.

Survivors are a son, Weldon B. Chesshire of Greenville, South Carolina; five daughters, Mrs. Roy Prater of Bogata, Mrs. Estelle Clark and Mrs. Frank (Faye) Dorsey both of Dallas, Mrs. John (Jean) Moore of Clarksville, and Mrs. Phillip (Margie) Lamaster of Houston; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were grandsons'.
