Mary Katherine "Kat" (Barnhardt) Aldridge, age 81, of Concord, N.C., died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, N.C.

Born July 20, 1927 in Cabarrus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther Barnhardt and the late Mary (Winecoff) Barnhardt.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Gilbert "Gib" Aldridge in 2004.

She is survived by her Daughter-Vicky Floyd & husband Howard of Concord, NC; Daughter-Joy Tarlton & husband Terry of Concord, NC; Son-Art Aldridge & wife Becki of Silver Lake, Wash.; Sister-Gertrude Burch of Concord, N.C.; Brother-Henry Barnhardt of Concord, N.C.; Grandchildren-Bryan and Jared Floyd, Scott Tarlton, and Delaine and Mollie Aldridge

Mary Katherine Aldridge was employed as a supervisor in the hosiery industry and was a member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church.

The family will meet at the home of a daughter,Vicky Floyd, 112 Birnam Wood Drive, Concord.

Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Concord, PO Box 367, Concord, N.C. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Cold Springs United Methodist Church, Concord. Funeral service will be at Cold Springs United Methodist Church at 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 20, 2009 , Rev. Randy Wall, Rev. Art Aldridge and Rev. Howard Floyd officiating.

Interment will be at Cold Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery in Concord, N.C.

Memorials may be made to Cold Springs United Methodist Church, 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord, NC 28025 or Alzeimers Association, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215.
