On 19 Nov 1864 in Jennings County, Indiana, Sarah married Solomon Deputy, son of William Deputy and his wife, Cassandra Gasaway Deputy. They have four children: Minnie May Deputy 1865, Merty Deputy 1867, Laura Deputy 1868 and Ella Lou Deputy 1871.
Solomon and Lucretia's daughters, Mertie and Laura, passed away in 1868 and 1870, respectively. Lucretia died in 1871 at the age of 34 during the birth of Ella Lou. Solomon was left with two small daughters, 6-year-old Minnie May and newborn, Ella Lou, both living to adulthood.
