Westmoreland Recorder, 11 Dec 1913:
"J. C. Logan died at a hospital in Kansas City last Saturday. He had been at his home unable to work for several weeks but was not considered to be in immediate danger for only a few days. He was taken to the hospital a couple of days before his death. The funeral services were held in the Congregational church in Manhattan Tuesday and interment was in the Manhattan cemetery beside his mother, who died some years ago. The funeral services were in charge of the Masonic lodge at Westmoreland, Odd Fellow Lodge of Louisville and the A. O. U. W. of Onaga. He carried $2,000 insurance in the last named order. He leaves a wife and one son, Dewey. He was a register of deeds two terms in Pottawatomie County and made a popular official. He has many friends all over the county, but more especially in the south and west parts where he is best known."
