Hester Elizabeth Darling

Hester Elizabeth Darling, 90, Crawfordsville, died 4:27 a.m. Monday in Lane House Nursing Care Center.

Mrs. Darling was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Williamsburg [Williamsport] High School and a member of Yountsville Community Church.

She was born Jan. 16, 1912, at Hillsboro, to Carl Ainsworth and Cora May Livengood Walker. She married Richard Emerson Darling on June 28, 1931, at Veedersburg. He died June 23, 1991.

Survivors include a son, Rollin Bruce, Port Washington, N.Y.; a daughter, Janet Fay, Crawfordsville; a sister, Catherine Fenters, Royal Center, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Lois K. Darling, a son, Curtis Darling, and an infant sister are deceased.

Funeral services are scheduled 10 a.m. Thursday in Shoemaker funeral Home, 202 S Indiana 25, Waynetown, with the Rev. Alan Goff officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
