Ferne Leone Armstrong, 94, went to be with the Lord, April 23, 2009, in Norman, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 27, 2009, at First Christian Church, 220 South Webster, in Norman with Reverend David Spain officiating. Interment will follow at the Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.

Ferne was born January 4, 1915, in Aline, Oklahoma, to Henry Thomas and Mary Belle
(Thomas) Lindley. She graduated from Tonkawa High School and attended Tonkawa Junior
College.

Ferne married Charles Burton Armstrong on December 9, 1938, in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
They moved to Norman in 1941, from Perry, Oklahoma. She enjoyed a number of hobbies including gardening, cooking, quilting and birds. Ferne was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a special grandmother. She loved God and her family. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church and gave her time freely to her church. Ferne adored her children grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ferne was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles Sr. Survivors include two
sons, James Robert Armstrong and wife, Dorothy, of Norman and Charles Burton Armstrong and wife, Linda, of Blanchard, Oklahoma; sister, Georgia Stoddard, of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Shelly Jones and husband, Richard, Leslie Unsell and husband, Victor, Chris Armstrong and CharlesJay Armstrong and wife, Kirsten; and twelve great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Sadie, Luke, Ben Jones,
Garrett and Lindsi Unsell, Brady and Jacob Armstrong, Zach, Joshua, Moriah and Rachel
Armstrong.

Ferne will be greatly missed by family and friends.
