Mrs. Mary Herndon Caldwell, 69, wife of C.L. Caldwell died last night at her home on the Dr. W. N. Mebane farm near Dublin, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be conducted from the Dublin Methodist church at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow by the Rev. C.J. Walsh. Burial will be in Newbern cemetery. Survivors include her husband and the following children Mrs. Cecil Price, Mrs. Earl Akers, Mrs. Raymond Akers and Mrs. Charles Akers, of Dublin; Edward and Ellis Caldwell, of Switchback, WV; also three sisters, Mrs. Allen Mabry, of Newbern; Mrs. James Allen, of Switchback, WV; and Mrs. H.T. Ratcliffe, of Pulaski; 4 brothers also survive the decedent, John Herndon of Dublin; Ed Herndon, of Maybeury, WV; Mack Herndon, of Newbern; and H.W. Herndon, of Wytheville.
