Russell Eugene Davis, son of Stuart and Laura (Nelson) Davis, was born November 24, 1935 south of Ruthven in Palo Alto County, Iowa. He received his education in Ruthven.
Russell was a farmer in the area and did truck driving for many years until his retirement in 1998. In January 2000 Russell was elected Mayor of Ruthven serving until December 2005. He was also a member of the 2 Cylinder Club. Russell enjoyed reading western novels and watching western T.V. shows.
Russell died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at the Ruthven Community Care Center in Ruthven, Iowa at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stuart and Laura; and three brothers, Paul, Marvin and Jim.
He is survived by his children, Susan (Davis) Knoer and her husband, Gary of Ruthven, IA and Bob Davis and his wife, Deb of Spencer, IA; seven grandchildren, Ben, Brian, Jennifer, Bill, Sarah, Christine and Joe; three great grandchildren, Cayann, Seth and Alexandra; a sister, Marjorie Lyon; a brother, Charlie Davis and his wife, Doris; sister-in-law, Benita Davis; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends
