Lee Roy Adams passed away in his sleep on May 22, 2008 at Chambers Creek Place in Lacey, WA. Lee was born March 26, 1930 in French Camp, CA to Chester and Viva Searcy Adams. Lee had six siblings: Viola, Edward, Dorothy, Raymond, Helen, and Ben. Lee is the loving husband of Ruby B. Shuckhart-Adams, whom he married in 1995, bringing together a large family of nine surviving children: Robert (Diane) Adams, Michael (Dottie) Adams, Tawnya Humble, Yeh Hee Hahn (Tom) Ku, Catherine (Terry) Miller, Stephanie (David) Malone, Robert (Mimi) Shuckhart, Bunnie (Ken) Sweeney, Kim (Doug) Gunns and Jo Ann (Dennis deceased) Shuckhart. Lee is survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who adored their "Grandpa."

In 1951 Lee married Roberta Ward with whom he had six children. In 1956 he joined the Army and served for 30 years. He proudly served in Korea twice and once in Vietnam. He retired from the Army in 1976 and went back to college, earning his degree in Landscape Nursery Management. He returned to Fort Lewis as a Civil Servant and began managing the grounds there in 1982, retiring in 1993. After marrying his sweetheart Ruby, they resided in University Place, WA and enjoyed many wonderful years of traveling, spending time with family and working on their home and yard. Lee was very creative with woodworking, had a love of birds, fishing, plants, and a generous love for all his family. He was a loving husband, caring father, wonderful grandfather and a great friend; we will be forever changed by his influence and inspiration to all.

Private internment will be at Fort Lewis, WA. Memorial services will be June 2, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the University Place Presbyterian Church, 8101 27th St. W.
