Dick was born on September 22, 1942 in Hollywood CA. He passed away on May 5, 2009 and Oak River Rehab. in Anderson, CA. due to complications of Parkinsons Disease.

He had a Bachelors of Science in math from Northwestern Univ. Then a masters degree in Engineering and Business from Cal Poly while working for General Dynamics. He then started working for Lockheed in the early 1970's, where he worked on various C-130 airplane programs and held a top secret SCI clearence. He traveled extensively around the world for Lockheed. He also spent three tours of duty in Vietnam in the 1960's.

In 1981 Dick learned that he had Parkinsons Disease and retired at the age of 48 from Lockheed.

In 1994 Dick moved to Redding and started the Nor-Cal Parkinsons support group. In 1996 Dick and another Parkinsons patient and dear friend rode bicycles from San Diego to Maine to raise money for research and started support groups along the way. In 2001, at the age of 59, Dick became one of the first patients to undergo deep brain stimulation surgery.

At the age of 11 Dick found the love of his life GOLF!!!! He considered turning Pro at one time but thought it was to much of a hassle. In 2005, Dick found the second love of his life, Myrna. They married in 2006 and spent three happy years until his death. He his preceded in death by a son Chris, and brother Eddy.

He is survived by a daughter Judi (Mike) Jack, and grandaughter Amanda, brothers Mel (Evelyn), Bernie (Helga), all from Southern CA.

Services will be held May 15, 2009 at the Veterans Cemetery in Igo at 10:15 a.m. with a full Honor Guard. There will be a reception at Fairway Oaks Mobile Home Park Club House off Airport Rd., Hole In One Dr. (1 block S. of Kent's Market)
