Avonmore

Louise Mathilda (Schultz) Cain, 91, of Avonmore, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009, in her home. She was born April 17, 1917, in Braddock, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Mary C. (Kauffman) Schultz.

Louise was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church where she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society, was a past parish council member, and for 28 years devoted her time as sacristan.

Louise raised 23 foster children through the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. She enjoyed doing cross word puzzles and word searches, was passionate about her WWE Wrestling, but will always be remembered as one whose kindness and gentleness could only be exceeded by her faith in God and humanity.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Joseph Ridge, in April 1958; her second husband, Hugh John Cain, in 1977; and two brothers, William "Bill" and Joseph Schultz.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME, Avonmore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, in Avonmore, with the Rev. Salvatore Lamendola as celebrant.

Interment will follow in West View Cemetery, Avonmore.
