Fred Arneson, age 77, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 Conroe, Texas. He was born May 1, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas, to Fred M. and Dorothy Arneson. After the death of his father he was raised and loved by Howard O. and Dorothy Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sons, Mickey and Gary Arneson.

He graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College with a Masters Degree in Administration. After 38 years in the field of education, he retired as Superintendent of Coldspring School District.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jean Arneson; daughters, Jan Robison and husband, Landry, Debbie Hightower and husband, Allen, Susan Brown and husband, Tom, grandchildren, Miles and Jarrett Robison; Courtney Bailes, Eddie Ellisor, Patti Hightower, Christopher Arneson; great-grandchildren, Cinco Bailes, Brelynn and Miki Ellisor. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved.

Fred's family has arranged a night of visitation for friends and family: Thursday, May 7, 2009, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 14250 Highway 150 West, Coldspring, Texas. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas with interment immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery.
