Death of Rev. R. M. Hall's Second Child with Scarlet Fever--Very Sick Himself
News was received Saturday of the death of Alice Johnson, the 3 year old daughter of Rev. and Mrs. R. M. Hall, of San Antonio, from scarlet fever. Her death was preceded by only a few days by the death of their oldest daughter, Bessie, aged 11 years, from the disease. Rev. Mr. Hall is also dangerously ill with the disease and had to be separated from his wife and little baby. Mrs. Hall, of Austin, and daughter, Miss Mary, have gone to San Antonio to nurse Mr. Hall. The family have a host of friends here who grieve with sorrow over the trial that has come to the family. A special prayer was offered yesterday in the Gonzales Presbyterian church for the recovery of Mr. Hall and welcome of his family. It is said that the disease that has caused the death of his children is of a very malignant form.
