Austin son of Stephen W. Doughty & Nancy Gardiner. Austin as he was called was on his way to school when he stopped to play on his father's water wheel. His father not knowing Austin was there started the wheel and he was crushed to death. his sister said when she last saw him he was swinging his lunch pail and singing "Im going to Heaven when the worlds on Fire", a hymn they sang then in Sunday school. Thank you Paul for the photo's. Thanks to Judy Ebersole who told me of Doty History by Effie Russell. Without Effie's memories we might never have known why Austin died so young.
