Mrs. Vera Mae Burkett, age 81, of Century, Fla., passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009, at a Santa Rosa County hospital.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Century and attended Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lealon Burkett; grandson, Joshua Cartwright; brother, Ralph Moylan and 2 sisters, Vivian Justice and Loretta Gerow.

Mrs. Burkett is survived by four daughters, Theresa and Jerry Lambeth of Century, Deborah and Rufus Cartwright of Saraland, Ala, Suzette and James Walker of Atmore, Ala. and Rita and Mickey Folson of Germany; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Moylan of Gainesville, Fla; 2 sisters, Nell Birdsall of San Antonio, Texas and Maggie Jean Murray of Broadway, N.Y.; a devoted niece, Wanda Cooper of Birmingham, Ala and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ronald Broadhead officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Chapel Cemetery with Petty Funeral Homes, LLC directing.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 8, 2009, between 6 and 9 p.m. at Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Cufr, Nathaniel Cartwright, David Gehman, Dillon Conway, Wesley Buchta, Bryan Gross, paul Gerow, Charlie Gerow and Michael Folson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Brown and Wesley Smith.
