SWEEPING OFF SNOW

William G. Young receives last sum-
mons in Front of His Brother's
Residence--Was Pioneer

Stricken as he swept the snow from
the walks of the residence of his brother,
F. M. (Frank Mourice) Young, 1430 North
Prospect street,
William G. Young, 71 years of age, ex,
pired shortly after being carried into the
house about 8 o'clock yesterday morn-
ing. He was seen by neighbors across
the street to fall. They hastened to his
assistance, and aided in carrying him
into the residence of his brother.
Mr. Young was unconscious. Dr. J. B.
McNerthney was summoned but the aged
man had passed beyond the aid of a
physician. It is believed that death was
due to apopolexy or an affection of the
heart.
William G. Young was born in Alle-
gheny county, Pennsylvania. July 7,
1837. He came to the state of Wash-
ington in 1887 and engaged in the gen-
eral merchandise business at Des Moines
in partnership with his brother, F. M.
Young. About six years ago they changed
their location to South Tacoma, where
they were in the grocery business under
the firm name of Young & Co., until
about two years ago. Besides his brother
in Tacoma deceased leaves a sister in
Kansas City, Mo., and a brother in
Southern California or Nevada. He was

Hoska's to await decision as to the
funeral.
