NEWPORT -- Jerry Dean Hinkle, 66, of Newport died Thursday, Sept. 1, at Newport.
Born at Newport, he was a Navy veteran, having served in Hawaii during peacetime. He was the manager of Farm Serv-U Center from 1981-2000 and was branch manager of Helena Chemical Co. for five years. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Ona Eddington Hinkle of the home; a daughter, Jerri Beth Bowen of Newport; a brother, William E. Hinkle Jr. of Newport; two sisters, Sherry Bradley of Newport and Goldie Mathews of Ozark; and two grandsons, Will Bowen and Sam Bowen.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Hinkle; and his parents, William Edgar and Mary Estelle Pigg Hinkle.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Jackson's Funeral Home of Newport, with the Rev. Billy Ed Morris officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Bullard, Cooney Dewayne Davidson, Scott Mears, Travis Mears, Parmer Lee Hankins and Marion Mullins.
Honorary pallbearers will include Shirley Haigwood, Glover Haigwood, Sonny Hutchinson, Steve Rutledge, W.F. Sullivan, Buddy Hulett, R.D. Wilmans III and Bobby Doyle.
