Mrs. Harry (Patricia A. "Pat") Benner, 86, Morris, Illinois, passed away peacefully, early Wednesday morning, April 29, 2009 in Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center with her family by her side.
She was born February 14, 1923 in Streator, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Francis Barnwell Stewart.
Patricia received her education in the schools of Streator, Illinois.
Pat married Harry T. Benner on April 4, 1941 in Streator, Illinois. She was employed with the Arsenal in Elwood, Illinois for several years, and with her husband, they owned and operated Harry's TV & Appliance Store in downtown Morris, Illinois, for over 25 years, retiring in 1971.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survived by two sons, Harry (Sharon) Benner, Morris, IL., and Paul Benner of Streator, IL.; three grandsons, Scott (Emily) Benner, Shawn (Tami) Benner, both of Morris, IL., and Daniel (Betsy) Benner, Pennsylvania; two great grandchildren, Elliot and Jazmine; one sister, Mary Ellen (Norman) Obenhin, Streator, IL.; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded by parents; husband on August 27, 1994; one daughter, Patricia A. Benner in 1956; and one brother.
Funeral services: U.C. Davis and Sons Funeral Home, LTD., Morris, Illinois, Deacon Robert T. Stansberry Jr. officiate.
Interment: Evergreen Cemetery.
