Mrs. Dorothy M. 'Dottie" Plummer Grover, aged 82, passed away Saturday November 19, 2005. She was born on June 5, 1923 to Arthur and Frances (Hess) Anderson and lived in the Muskegon area all of her life. She was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church. She was an excellent cook and will be remembered forever for her famous pies. Dottie loved the sun and the beach and continued to visit the beach even up to her last week of life. On December 19, 1942 she married Leonard H Plummer, who preceded Dorothy. She and Len lived in Muskegon all their lives, raising their family. In later years, they especially appreciated being with their grandchildren, attending activities, sports, competitions, and celebrations. Dottie loved to be busy and to work. She worked as a secretary at Anaconda Cable, SD Warren Paper Mill, and Mona Shores High School for many years. Dottie loved people and beautiful things and so when she left her secretarial duties she went into the hairdressing profession. She owned Dottie's Hair Gallery providing service and helping people. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends and acquaintances she made wherever she went.

Survivors include her two children, Laura (Dave) Ranville of DeWitt, MI and Leonard Scott (Kim) Plummer of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Jason Ranville, Megan Ranville, Scott (Jessica) Plummer, Stacy (Michael) Yost, and Jennifer (Javi Hernandez) Plummer; and 3 great-grandchildren, Makenna Plummer, Alan Yost, and Jordan Hernandez. Also surviving is a brother, Robert (Doris) Anderson of Fruitport and sister Shirley VanDamn of Muskegon, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Phyllis Balkema.

A memorial service will be held December 27, 2005 at 3:00 pm at the Systema Funeral Homes, INC with Pastor Christopher Anderson officiating. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service on December 27, 2005.
