Mrs. Olive Magnolia Abernathy, 81, wife of Jotham R. Abernathy, expired at her home in Homer at 8:35 Saturday night. A complication of diseases was given as the cause of death. She had been ill since March 5 and in a serious condition the past few days.

Mrs. Abernathy was born December 9, 1857, in Hancock county, the daughter of William and Martha Moore Ball. She had spent her entire life in Hancock and Rush counties. On December 10, 1875, she was married to Mr. Abernathy and to this union six children were born, one son preceding her In death. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge M. E. church.

Survivors are the husband; one son, William Abernathy of Knightstown; four daughters, Mrs. Katie Walker and Mra. Ruth Clark of Homer, Mrs. Myrtle Graham of Knightstown, and Mrs. Edith Clevenger of Rushville; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Oldham of Rushville; two brothers, Ed Ball of Spiceland and Lot Ball of Henderson; ten grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Pleasant Ridge M. E. church Tuesday after-noon at two o'clock with the Rev. Merritti Machlan of Rushville in charge. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
