Mariam Ruth King was the daughter of William R. King and Harriet "Hattie" A. Robinson. William died young on May 30, 1879, in Cooke or Montague County, Texas -- only 38 years old. Hattie remarried, to Elias Preston Patrick, and they moved to Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. Hattie died in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, on 12 Feb 1925. Mariam Ruth had only one full sibling: Edward E. King. His whereabouts after 1910 haven't been found. Ruth had two half-siblings: Adolph Marion Patrick and Lawrence Alfred Patrick. (There were two additional half-siblings, but they died, probably in childhood.)

Mariam Ruth only seemed to go by "Ruth" as an adult. She married Christopher "Kit" Williams on 1 Aug 1889 in Cooke County, Texas. Between 1900 and 1910 Kit and Ruth moved to Pottawatomie Township in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. They had 11 children: Raymond Leslie, William Arden, Guthrie Hugh, Evelee Sarah, Chester Adolph, Vester Laverne, Lenley Laylan, Azalee Mae, Connie Elvin, and Dora Juanita Novalee.

They eventually settled in McLoud, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. Several of their grown children lived with them in McLoud. According to one of Ruth's grandsons, he enjoyed going to Grandma's house because "she knew how to fix large meals that were made each day. Grandma fed the total of 10 adults and, as usual, all the grandkids that were there each day."

Ruth and Kit lived on a farm, and Ruth had a nanny goat that she milked daily. This was one of her grandson's favorite memories.
